Four arrested in Edgecombe County for possessing a weapon of mass destruction

On 10/24/2022 NC State Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle for speeding on Ellis Rd in Tarboro. The Tropper called Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office for assistance. 

On October 24, 2022, around 4:00 PM a trooper with the NC State Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle for speeding on Ellis Rd outside of Tarboro, NC.  The trooper called for assistance and the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office responded to his location.  When deputies arrived on scene a handgun was found that had modifications made to it that made this weapon a fully automatic handgun along with a drum magazine that can hold up to 100 rounds.  Numerous rounds of ammunition were also found inside the vehicle and several other magazines.  The following four males were arrested and charged with the following crimes:


-Johnquavius Mckinney-Dickens B/M
DOB 07/23/2002 Possession of a weapon of Mass Destruction Bond $250,000 secured


-De’airious Knight B/M
DOB 07/30/1998 Possession of a weapon of Mass Destruction Bond $250,000 secured


-Rodrikus Dozier B/M
DOB 03/10/1999 Possession of a weapon of Mass Destruction, Possession of Firearm by Felon, and also 1st-degree forcible rape bond $500,00 secured
(Dozier had the outstanding warrant for 1st-degree forcible rape and was not related to this case.)


-Richard Hines III B/M
DOB 01/01/2001 Possession of a weapon of Mass Destruction Bond $250,000 secured 


All four of the suspects were placed in the Edgecombe County Detention Center.
